Engineering Properties of Palm Oil Clinker Fine-Modified Asphaltic Concrete Mixtures

Palm oil clinker (POC) is a non-biodegradable palm mill by-product typically discarded in dumpsites. This study analyzed the performance of POC powder (POCF) as bitumen modifier terms conventional and engineering properties asphalt mixture. For study, base 60/70 penetration grade was utilized different POCF dosages (0, 2, 4, 6, 8% by weight bitumen) were added. The effectively modified with then characterized. mixtures assessed. From characterization results, formation Si-O crystalline structure new Si-OH functional group identified. Furthermore, meandering pattern observed due to modification POCF. Based on test results it revealed that addition resulted stiffer blend compared unmodified bitumen. improved mixtures’ Marshall stability relative mixtures. Analysis variance (ANOVA) regression modeling showed influence significance POCF-MB, R2 values (95-99%). Finally, 4-6% dosage found be optimum dosage, yielding best evaluated.
